Premiere: WEECO is the first to bring medical cannabis lozenges to the German market!
Hildesheim, April 10, 2025 – Weeco Pharma GmbH is pleased to announce a groundbreaking new dosage form in medical cannabis therapy: the THC-infused lozenge.
This new application form will be available for the first time in Germany in the second quarter of 2025 and represents a significant advancement in cannabis therapy. The lozenge formula was developed over three years by Weeco Pharma GmbH in collaboration with BOLDER Arzneimittel GmbH & Co. KG and experienced partner pharmacies. This patient-specific application allows for a fast, therapeutically effective, and pleasant-tasting administration of cannabinoids—free from social stigma.

The cannabis lozenges can be prescribed individually by the attending physician and prepared in the pharmacy according to the issued prescription. Weeco Pharma GmbH and MH medical hemp GmbH, both subsidiaries of SYNBIOTIC SE, supply all partner pharmacies with the ingredients for the lozenge in convenient sets.
This new dosage form offers pharmaceutical-technological advantages, such as quick and simple processing in the pharmacy and precise, reproducible THC dosing. It facilitates use for patients and sets new standards for cannabis-based medication administration.

How does this new dosage form work?
Weeco GmbH provides the main ingredient (PIEX), a pure, high-potency cannabis extract containing 70% THC, free from fillers or carrier oils. MH medical hemp then supplies the additional components for the lozenge as a convenient manufacturing set. The final medicine with the desired individualized dosing is then produced in the pharmacy.
By the way, this extract can also be used to make oil extracts, capsules, suppositories, or creams.
